DPF Cleaning Services - Professional DPF Clean off-vehicle - Lincoln, Lincolnshire Off vehicle Industrial DPF Cleaner

DPF Clean/flush (in-situ chemical flush)

£110

Mobile service available (extra charge applies) - to increase chance of success it is recommended to drop and leave the vehicle with me - this means the chemical can be left to soak in the DPF for longer periods increasing the chance of success.

This chemical flush is a very effective solution for DPFs that are blocking. However, to maintain expectations, is not a guaranteed fix. Some DPFs are simply to blocked to succeed or suffer thermal damage internally.

SUCCESS RATES IM CURRENTLY FINDING:
90% where Particulate Matter (PM) has built up due to poor driving habits and/or ASH is starting to become stuck in the honeycomb. Also some cases where oil contaminated but caught early.
60% where ASH is starting to solidify or where oil has contaminated the filter and mixed with toxins.

*This service is not appropriate where blockage is so severe that the vehicle won't start or run or DPF has collapsed internally or suffered thermal damage.*

Some (of many) successes:
- Mini Cooper. The vehicle has EML for DPF which after clearing would come on within minutes of driving. Backpressure on idle measured at 400mBar (normal range 5-50mBar). Customer left vehicle overnight where fluid was left to soak. Following the flush the backpressure reduced to 100mBar. Although still high, EML remained off allowing the vehicle to perform it's natural regeneration and preserve the life of the DPF.
- Renault Traffic. These have a DPF pressure sensor and a Turbine pressure sensor. Chemicals was pumped through both at pressure, clearing a blockage in the turbine pressure pipe in the process. The issues came about shortly after replacing a failed Turbo which dumped oil in the exhaust system. Fortunately the customer caught it early.
- Ford Transit. A failed pressure sensor caused multiple failed regenerations. This also contaminated the oil. Customer has an oil & filter change, new sensor and chemical clean and restored the DPF back to life.

Why do DPFs block?

- DPF filters are designed to capture particular matter (soot) and burn it off during the Regeneration process. The byproduct of this is ASH, ash isnt so easily removed and restricts airflow. DPF filters have a lifespan and when ash content reaches a pre-determined level by the manufacturer the filter is said to have reached its end of life. With this clean, in most cases the ash and soot can be cleaned giving the filter a renewed chance of life and save £000s.

Will an in-situ chemical clean fix my DPF?

- The simple answer is, we don't know. Every DPF is different. This clean removes almost all PM - but ASH can harden, especially where oil has contaminated it. In which case on off-vehicle clean may be more suitable. But even off-vehicle services isn't guaranteed to remove ash.

- Having done loads of these, in-situ chemical clean seems to have about an 80% success rate overall. If the DPF just has a PM build-up (usually caused by poor driving habits) then success rate stands about 90%. As ASH has built up success rate stands about 70% success rate.

If you DPF is blocked to the extend the vehicle doesn't run, then sadly this service is not suitable for your vehicle.

What will I do to your filter?

- A quick scan will take place to establish current differential pressure within the DPF and the PM level currently.

- Stage 1 chemical is pumped  in to the DPF via a pressure sensor (or other appropriate sensor hole) using a specialist tool designed to pump up to 4bar of pressure. This will be left to soak to soften up the ash content, mix with any oil contamination, break down particulate matter. Minimum 20 minute soak, usually much longer where vehicle is left with me. Sometimes over night for severe blockages.

- A forced regeneration will be done to burn off and flush out toxins.

- A Stage 2 chemical will be pumped in to the DPF to remove any remaining toxins. But also coat the honeycomb material with a protective film to help prevent future buildup.

- A short further regen will be done.

RISKS

- This solution is very effective, but isn't a
