Car/Van ECU Remapping in Lincoln, Lincolnshire & Surrounding areas.
Prices are assumed your vehicles ECU flash can be accessed via OBD.
Some ECUs need removing and accessing outside of the vehicle - in such a case an additional charge is applicable & vehicle dependant e.g. if your ECU is easily removed in the engine bay (e.g. many BMWs, Peugeots etc) the charge is less than those that are located in wheel arches or not easily accessible in the engine bay (e.g. Fords).
Some ECUs have a plate covering the ECU with snap-bolts that need grinding out, such instances you would need to remove this plate yourself.
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) get blocked or become ineffecient. Can also be clogged by failed EGR valve.
Example codes: P200200 Effeciency below requirements; P242F Ash Accumulation.
Required after removal DPF internals.
EGR electrical units can fail. EGR valves can mechanically stick. Causing reduced power, EML illuminated, rough running, can flag catalyst efficiency codes, air flow metering faults.
Common failures can be the adblue injection pumps become crystalised and blocked. Injector blocked reducing efficiency. Level senders defective. Ultimately when the countdown to non-start begins you need to fix the fault before your vehicle stops running.
Lambda sensors measure oxygen levels within the exhaust gasses to allow fuel trim adjustments within the engine. Sensor 2 monitors the catalyst efficiency. Example codes P0420; P0430 effeciency faults.
Struggling to clear certain P codes? Or do codes keep returning? P codes can be removed. Example codes P253F oil dilution which can cause EML and stop regenerations. Also common P200200 efficiency code. Peugeot can have an upper and lower air flow limit code hard to fully pinpoint.
Pop & Bang on petrols can create the loud 'pop' 'bang' sound during gear changing.
The Diesel equivilent is the Hardcut Limiter which cuts fuel supply at a specified RPM and then reinitiates it to create an equivilent popping noise under heavy acceleration.
Economy Tuning
Increasingly popular with rising fuel prices, we are able to re-calibrate the ECU data to improve fuel efficiency. The increase in torque will allow less gear changes and accelerator pedal movement thus resulting in improved MPG and driveability. Economy Tuning is for Turbo Diesel vehicles only.
Stage 1 Tuning
Designed for a standard and unmodified vehicle with no hardware upgrades. A Stage 1 Remap increases power and torque while also improving fuel efficiency. Removes flat spots and gives a more responsive drive without compromising reliability.
Stage 2 Tuning
Bigger increase in power and torque than a Stage 1 Remap, efficiency will still improve but not as dramatically as a Stage 1 Tune. Often hardware upgrades are required before a Stage 2 Remap can be applied. Removes flat spots and gives a more responsive drive without compromising reliability.
