Why do DPFs block?
- DPF filters are designed to capture particular matter (soot) and burn it off during the Regeneration process. The byproduct of this is ASH, ash isnt so easily removed and restricts airflow. DPF filters have a lifespan and when ash content reaches a pre-determined level by the manufacturer the filter is said to have reached its end of life. With this clean, in most cases the ash and soot can be cleaned giving the filter a renewed chance of life and save £000s.
- We use an industrial chemical to soak the DPF for 30-60minutes depending on how much ash has accumulated before putting it through a 1hour cleaning cycle.
- This process is designed to dissolve and breakdown ASH and SOOT to regenerate the filter and increase airflow.
- This is different to an in-situ chemical clean which struggles to breakdown ash content. In-situ cleans are excellent where soot content has exceeded pre-determined levels and ash hasnt solidified or become problematic.
What will I do to your filter?
- A chemical is left stewing in the filter prior to the clean to soften and break down the ash and carbon.
- I use an industrial machine to then pump and circulate hot water and chemicals through the filter for up to an hour, releasing the ash and soot from the honeycomb and out of the filter.

Step 2: Post the DPF to us. Include your name and vehicle registration number either written clearly on the outside of the packaging or on paper inside.
